Newark, NJ is a diverse city with a rich history. The first collection we are transcribing is that of the Newark Eagles. The Newark Eagles were a championship Negro League baseball team in Newark, NJ. Their letters were donated to the Charles F. Cummings NJ Information Center at the Newark Public Library and we need your help to transcribe them!
The Charles F. Cummings NJ Information Center is a research level collection of materials about Newark and NJ, including over 400 collections. We are starting our transcription effort with the Newark Eagles collection because of the importance of this Negro League history but we are looking to expand to other materials in our collection on Newark and NJ history.
