FAQ

Where does this data come from?

The 1939 WPA household census cards are housed in University of Southern California's Special Collections

How will the data be used?

The first phase of the project will collect information about the construction and subdivision of Bunker Hill homes as well as demographic information about residents. By making this data searchable, we hope it can become a valuable resource for scholars from numerous disciplines. As the project expands, more information from the card will be digitized.

What does the red text on the cards refer to and what should I write if the red text is different?

The red text was added by a supervisor after the initial census was conducted. It indicates that the information has been verified. You may occasionally encounter dates or figures that have been corrected in red. In these situations, please include both the original black and the secondary red text in your response.
