Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I learn more before I start classifying?
Check out our tutorial! When you first click on the workflow, a tutorial will display on the screen. You can click through this before starting. You can always refer back to the tutorial by clicking on the Tutorial tab to the right of the Task tab within the workflow.

2. What do I do if I'm not sure of the answer?
You can click on the help link or check out the Field Guide. Mainly, just give your best answer. We want to know what you think!

3. Where do the stories come from?
The stories come from different sources:

• Hollywood Hits, the top 25 highest grossing movies 1980-2020.
• [NY Times Bestsellers(https://data.post45.org/posts/nyt_hardcover_fiction_bestsellers/), 1,200 longest-running books on the bestseller list since 1980.
• UNESCO World Literature, 208 works from UNESCO's collection of workd literary masterpieces.
• Folk Tales, a collection of folktales from around the world.
• True Crime Podcasts, a collection of 839 episodes.

4. Can I see how many passages I have classified?
Yes, you can!

• Click on your user name in the upper right hand corner and select "My Profile".
• Select the tab “Your Stats”. This will show you all of the classifications that you have done for The Lessons of Stories and any other Zooniverse projects that you have participated in.

5. How can I ask a question that is not in this FAQ?
You can ask questions on the project's Talk page in the General forum. "Ask questions about specific passages" is for questions about specific passages. "Ask the researchers questions about the project" is for bigger questions related to the research project.

6. What's the data going to be used for?
Your data will serve as the basis of a large-scale study of moral choices across a diverse range of stories.

7. Where will the data go?
The data will be placed in the following repository dedicated to this project. It will be publicly available once we have cleaned and processed it. This can take time, but we aim for a 6-12 month turnaround for each project.
