The Team

Louise Leakey

Louise is a research professor in the Department of Anthropology at Stony Brook University in New York, and is also a director of the Turkana Basin Institute, a major center for human origins research that also runs field programs for students from two research stations in northern Kenya. Louise is also the creator of africanfossils.org

Adrian Evans

Adrian is a research fellow in the School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences at the University of Bradford, UK. He is a co-investigator of the fragmented heritage project and the project manager for fossilfinder.

Tom Sparrow

Tom is a research assistant in the School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences at the University of Bradford, UK. He has a background in geographic information systems and works on preparing and evaluating data for fossilfinder.

Robert Ngechu

Robert is our research assistant who makes sure everything goes smoothly on the ground in Kenya. He is a longstanding researcher for africanfossils.org and is responsible for many of the models of fossil material that you can find online.

Peter Mason

Peter is a volunteer picked up by the project through its activities on zooniverse. Peter has become an instrumental member of the team with data analysis development of workflows and tutorials.

Edward Faber

Eddy is a post-doctoral researcher in the School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences at the University of Bradford, UK. He is our social media champion and is tasked with trying to help us be as open as possible in communicating the research we are doing to as wide an audience as possible. Eddy's background is as an archaeological scientist.

Andrew Wilson

Andy is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic and Archaeological Sciences in the School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences at the University of Bradford, UK. He is a Principal Investigator of the fragmented heritage project.
