Which Birds Visit Our Neighborhood?
Are you ready to explore the birds around us?
Background:
Biodiversity means the variety of living things in a place. By studying birds, we can learn how healthy our environment is. Using wildlife cameras on campus, we will look at photos to find out how many different birds visit us and which ones are the most common.
Our Project:
Your job is to look at photos from our campus wildlife cameras:
- Find birds in the pictures.
- Identify the species (or describe what you see).
We will use this information to calculate how diverse our bird population is. This helps us understand how many different types of birds live here and why that matters.
Learning Goals:
By the end of this project, you will:
- Identify if birds are in wildlife camera photos.
- Describe or name the species you see.
- Use the data to measure bird biodiversity.
- Create charts to show what you learned.
