Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
Coming soon!
The project just started so we don’t have any results to share yet. Get back to transcribing!
But while you are here, we have some London bird facts for you to enjoy.
The oldest record in GiGL's species database is a cuckoo recorded by John Lubbock in 1848.

According to Wikipedia, John Lubbock lived in the same village as Charles Darwin, whose goldfinch and siskin recorded in 1887 are some of the oldest records in GiGL's database.

GiGL currently holds a whopping 1,105,585 bird records for London.
However, there are only 5,155 bird records from the years 1970-1979.
The team at GiGL hopes that the valuable species records Zooniverse users are helping to transcribe will improve our knowledge of the birds in London during the 1900s.
