Zoo Teach

Zoo Teach is a companion website to Zooniverse enabling educators to find and share lesson plans and resources designed to bring citizen science into the classroom. Have a lesson, worksheet, or other that you’ve created for use in the classroom? Please share it on Zoo Teach!

Galaxy Zoo Navigator

The Galaxy Zoo Navigator is a tool designed to enable people to classify as part of a group, compare your galaxy classification to other people’s classifications, and explore galaxy characteristics with simple graphing tools.

Zoo Tools

Originally intended for advanced Zooniverse volunteers but with obvious application in educational settings, Zoo Tools is a place where volunteers observe, collect, and analyze data from select Zooniverse projects. Currently, you can explore data from Galaxy Zoo, Galaxy Zoo Quench, Space Warps, and Snapshot Serengeti. Please note that this project is in beta and you may encounter bugs.

Solar Storm Watch Resources for Teachers

This website from the Royal Observatory Greenwich contains lesson plans and resources for teachers wanting to use Solar Stormwatch with students.

Teacher Professional Development

Occasionally we host teacher professional development workshops on Zooniverse education tools and resources. Keep an eye on the Zooniverse Education Blog for opportunities. If you are interested in having a Zooniverse educator give a virtual presentation to teachers at your school or organization, contact us below. We will do our best to accommodate requests.
